Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
CGI with live action
Continuing our partnership with Medik8, a British, science-led skincare brand, we developed a launch campaign for Exo-PDRN Prismatic+, bringing its complex ingredient story into a luminous world of refracted light, sculptural forms and fluid movement. We combined CGI and live action to connect the science behind the formulation with the experience of using it.

Understanding the science to shape the design.
In-depth conversations with Medik8’s product development team helped us understand the active ingredients and identify what mattered most to the visual story.
The tetrahedral structure of Prismatic PDRN informed our pyramidal forms, built from twisting, DNA-like strands. Exosomes became translucent, bubble-like structures, revealing the signalling molecules within. Each ingredient had its own character, connected through a consistent treatment of light, material and movement.
This approach allowed us to move between product, formulation and skin within one coherent sequence, making the science accessible while maintaining the campaign’s atmospheric quality.

Bringing the campaign together.
CGI, live action and motion graphics were brought together through the edit, with sound design shaped around the picture and voiceover to give the film rhythm and atmosphere. The resulting campaign combined a hero film, supporting motion assets and high-resolution stills for the retail serum launch. We subsequently redesigned and reversioned the film for the professional product, adapting the communication while retaining the campaign’s visual identity.
Evolving Medik8’s visual language through a distinct prismatic aesthetic.
Building on the approach established across our previous Medik8 campaigns, the new work needed an identity of its own while feeling recognisably part of the range. The product’s prismatic character gave us a starting point, shaping everything from the architectural spaces around the packaging to the smallest details of the ingredient animations.
The campaign’s key visual brought this thinking together. Bespoke product models sat within a bright, abstract environment, with transparent surfaces and shifting colour giving the composition depth. Clean and precise, yet rich in detail, it established a visual direction that could carry across motion and still imagery.

Development process
Soft-body simulations gave the serum and molecular forms a supple, responsive movement. Alongside these, intricate particle systems introduced a sense of activity and scale. Refraction, transparency and carefully controlled surface detail carried the prismatic aesthetic through each scene.
We also attended the brand’s live action shoot, supporting its art direction and capturing 3D scans of both models’ faces. These scans gave us accurate geometry on which to build fine CGI meshes that followed the contours of the skin.
Integrated with the footage, the effects created a delicate layer of light and movement across the face, visually expressing the product’s gentle yet effective positioning and connecting the abstract science scenes with human skin.
