Designing the future
Bolder has partnered with Hexagon’s Robotics division to launch AEON, an autonomous system that features advanced sensing technology, intelligence, and adaptive design. Our launch film showcases the innovation from a modern product design angle, introducing AEON in a way that feels inspiring rather than intimidating, opening up conversations about innovation, intelligence, and the role of design in shaping the future.
BUILT WITH INTELLIGENCE
A synthesis of cutting-edge Swiss engineering and next‑generation autonomous robotics, AEON boosts automation across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and logistics.
Because AEON can see and understand its surroundings, it can pick up and move specific objects, tend and operate machines, inspect parts and equipment, scan environments to create digital twins, ultimately supporting human operators.
Engineering the Motion
Central to the project is a detailed rig that ensures fluid, dynamic animation across AEON’s entire structure. Our texturing approach balances realism with a sense of technical beauty, enhanced by chiaroscuro lighting and a minimalist black-and-white palette that showcases surface details and AEON’s engineering sophistication
A strong key light with little fill accentuates shapes, volume, curves and fine detail of the 3D, creating a distinct graphic style while still achieving a photo-realistic look to maintain plausibility. The finishing touch is a neon-blue glow – the visual heart of innovation and excellence – that brings the look to life.
The launch film
Premiering on an 8-metre screen beside Hexagon’s CEO, the launch film – supported by a selection of assets for various touchpoints – distils AEON’s complex technology into an optimistic look at the future of workflows.
Concept: A system of ideas
In collaboration with Animus Studios, we explored AEON’s capabilities through a system of ideas, delivered with a minimalist art direction. Figurative scenes express the three defining traits of AEON — agility (dexterity and locomotion), awareness (the fusion of spatial intelligence and reasoning), and versatility (the seamless transition between tasks and operational demands) — demonstrating what AEON can do.
Abstraction, motion, form, texture, and composition combine to visualise the complexity of AEON's traits without being too literal about the technology.
